With an automatic machine, you can pre-program or pre-set the amount of water used. Once you have done this, you only have to push the button once and the machine will stop the water flow automatically - This way you will have a more consistent espresso experience since every espresso will be.


If you are looking for the flexibility to determine your espresso result every time, you might prefer a manual machine. If you are looking for consistency, you might want to choose an automatic machine.
